Join the Eastside Christian School Family today
Thank you for your interest in Eastside Christian School. We look forward to working with you through the application process and helping you find a new school home for your student at Eastside!
Outlined below is our application process. Take a moment to print this Application Process Checklist to assist you as you move through the process. Should you have any questions, please contact our Admissions Office at 770-971-2332. Or, connect with us through the links below.
Step 1: ONLINE APPLICATION & TEACHER RECOMMENDATION
To begin the application process, please submit your online application along with the $100 application fee (non-refundable, non-transferable).
To complete an on-line application, users are asked to create an account. A few things to note as you work through this process:
Please make note of your log-in information as this account will become your Parent Portal throughout the application process.
Applicants who were a part of a previous year’s application process may access their account with the log-in information created at that time. You do not need to create a new account.
Families with two households should create one student account at this time. Additional accounts may be added at a later time.
A teacher recommendation is required for the application process. You must provide an email for your student’s current homeroom teacher (rising K-6th) or a teacher from one of your student’s core classes in middle school or high school (rising 7th-12th) within the online application prior to submitting the application. Once the application is submitted, the teacher recommendation form will be sent directly to your student’s teacher and then returned to us through your student’s account.
Georgia law requires that kindergarten students be five years of age on or before September 1st and first grade students be six years of age on or before September 1st.
Step 2: REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
A student application file is complete when the following documents have been provided. These documents may be scanned and added directly to your student’s application account (preferred method), or you may email the documents to our Admissions Office. Records should be requested by completing the Records Request Form and giving the form directly to your student’s school.
Birth certificate
Immunization records (Georgia form 3231) or waiver from their primary care physician
School records for the past three (3) years, including the following:
Transcript or report cards
Standardized testing scores (Milestones, CoGat, Iowa, etc.)
Behavior and disciplinary records
The following documents are required, if applicable:
504 Plan
Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
Psychoeducational Evaluation
Applications for potential students who currently have a 504 plan, IEP, and/or recommendation from a recent psychoeducational evaluation and desire to be considered for enrollment, should complete an application and provide all documents listed above for review.
Eastside offers support for a limited number of students with minor academic challenges through our Discovery Program to help them achieve academic success at Eastside. The student must have an existing psych ed evaluation to be considered. This program is an additional cost beyond our normal tuition fees and is not available for potential new students beyond fifth grade. Due to limited space in this program each year, Eastside's Discovery Review Board will assess all completed application files in mid-March, immediately following our Priority Enrollment Period, and make enrollment decisions thereafter based on program availability within the student’s specific grade level. If interested, please read more about this program to understand the scope of this option for your student. You may also contact our Admissions Office to discuss further.
Step 3: ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT & PARENT MEETING
Once your student’s complete application is received, including all required documentation, your student's application file will be reviewed to determine next steps.
If your student has taken the IOWA academic assessment in the past two years, their score on that assessment will be reviewed to determine if any additional testing needs to take place. All students who have not taken the IOWA or for whom we want some additional assessment information will be assigned an academic assessment date.
All students within the Priority enrollment period will be assigned an early testing date in early March, provided all requirements have been met. Applications submitted after mid-February will test at assigned dates throughout the remainder of the enrollment period.
During the application process, a parent meeting will be scheduled with our Head of School. The timing of this meeting is dependent on the completion of the application file, but may take place prior to the academic assessment date. The Admissions Office will contact you directly to schedule this meeting.
Step 4: ENROLLMENT DECISION & INVITATION TO ENROLL
After a review of each student’s completed application file, an enrollment decision will be made to ensure Eastside Christian can serve your child with excellence. A completed application file will include all of the required documents, the academic assessment, and a parent meeting.
All enrollment decisions will be communicated by email. Positive decisions will include an invitation to enroll and information for next steps in the enrollment process. Priority decisions will be given in mid-March. All other decisions after the initial enrollment periods will be given on a rolling basis as space allows.
Step 5: ENROLLMENT ACCEPTANCE
After receiving an email communication with the invitation to enroll, families will be given an opportunity to “accept” or decline enrollment. The invitation includes instructions to finalize the application/enrollment process. An enrollment decision must be made within 7 days of receipt of the invitation.
